Marcela Esquivel
Registered Intern
Welcome, I am Marcela Esquivel, Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern
Most people come to therapy when something in their life feels off. It might be grief, a shift in identity, relationship strain, or just a sense that you’re no longer living in a way that feels true to you. I work with individuals, couples, and families, including blended families, veterans and active-duty service members, those navigating postpartum changes, eating disorders and an ally to the LGBTQ+ community.
I see therapy as a space to slow down and really look at what’s going on, both in your present life and in the patterns that have been shaping you over time. Together, we can begin to make sense of what you’re feeling, what you’re carrying, and what might need to change.
My approach is grounded in psychodynamic and existential therapy, and I also draw from CBT and DBT when practical tools are helpful. Some of our work may be focused on insight; some may be focused on building new ways of coping and responding. Both are important.
Therapy doesn’t offer quick fixes, but it can offer something more lasting: a deeper understanding of yourself, more freedom in how you live, and a stronger sense of connection to yourself and to others.
If you’re considering this step, I’d be glad to meet you there.
