Welcome! My name is Lisa Barnby, and I am a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern. I specialize in working with couples, parents and children, blended families and families navigating unique situations. My primary goal is to help families enhance communication and problem-solving skills, enabling them to overcome a variety of challenges. I also provide individual counseling and am an LGBTQ+ ally.
Before joining ABC Counseling, I worked at a medication-assisted addiction treatment center, where I provided counseling and coordinated medication management with the on-site addiction doctor. I had the privilege of working directly with individuals struggling with addiction and their families. My approach combined medication-assisted treatment with psychoeducation, relapse prevention, and support fot managing triggers. I collaborated with clients and a multidisciplinary team to help each client on their recovery journey. Addiction impacts so many and is not a battle to be fought alone. I offer both 12-step-based and non-12-step, evidence-based therapies.
Life’s journey can be daunting at times, but you don’t have to face it alone. I look forward to working alongside you.
