Jay Jannett
Registered Intern
Jay Jannett is a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern (RCSWI) who is dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges with compassion, empathy, and respect. He has experience providing both individual and group therapy across a variety of treatment settings, including crisis stabilization, intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and traditional outpatient care.
Throughout his career, Jay has worked with individuals facing a wide range of mental health concerns, life transitions, and personal struggles. He is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to pursue meaningful change.
Jay's therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). He recognizes that every person's journey is unique and works collaboratively with clients to tailor treatment to their individual needs, strengths, and goals.
At the heart of Jay's work is a belief that seeking therapy is an act of courage. He understands that reaching out for support can be one of the most difficult steps a person takes, and he considers it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they build resilience, develop new skills, and work toward a more fulfilling life.
Jay believes that all people are worthy of love, dignity, and compassion, regardless of their circumstances or struggles. His goal is to foster a therapeutic relationship built on trust, authenticity, and hope, helping clients discover their strengths and create lasting positive change.
Outside of his professional work, Jay enjoys cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers, reading, and spending time with his dog.
