Carrie Young is a compassionate Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern who specializes in working with children, adolescents, and families. With over 15 years of experience in education and school-based mental health, Carrie brings a deep understanding of child development, behavior, and the emotional challenges young people face today.

Carrie provides a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to express themselves and build the skills needed to navigate life’s challenges. She works with children and teens experiencing anxiety, emotional dysregulation, behavioral concerns, school-related stress, peer difficulties, and family transitions. Carrie also partners closely with parents, offering guidance and practical strategies to support their child’s emotional and behavioral growth.

Her therapeutic approach is integrative and tailored to each client’s needs, incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused techniques, and strengths-based counseling. Carrie is also trained in trauma-informed care and utilizes interventions that promote emotional regulation, resilience, and positive coping skills.

In addition to her clinical work, Carrie has extensive experience with crisis intervention, safety planning, and collaboration with schools and community resources. Her background as a school counselor and educator allows her to effectively support clients in both clinical and academic environments, bridging the gap between school and mental health care.


Education & Background

Carrie earned her Education Specialist (Ed.S.) in School Counseling and holds master’s degrees in Educational Leadership and Early Childhood Education.
